So, we’d planned to wait until March to move, but with rising costs and our impatience, we’re moving the date to the end of December. Our current landlord is giving us a little leeway with the date since we don’t know what else we might run into between now and then.

In fact, when we went to visit Raven last Friday we had a little surprise. Water in the main stateroom. Our memory foam topper was soaked in the corners and water was dripping in from the dingy davit stays. The Mister had to take apart what he could (that adhesive is strong!) and re-caulk after a round of drying with heaters and hair dryers. We’ll be checking again tomorrow to see if that took care of the problem. Fingers crossed.

We also discovered that there’s no drain in the kids head. That might make showering in there a bit messy. The Mister is doing research on how to do that properly, but it seems weird that it wasn’t done when the bathroom was refinished. The sink is also not attached to the counter and the shower attachment that was meant to replace the old one was not installed. The joys of home ownership?

I’ve been busy installing amenities in the galley and head. I ordered a lot of things from Ikea that will make organizing a little easier, and got some towel racks and other bits at Home Depot and Lowes. It was hard placing the first screw into the wood, but it’s all up now. Pictures when we get the countertops in; which should be happening tomorrow…
